How to Install a Nuc Demonstration

On April 13, 2024 at approximately 3:30 p.m. The Central WA Beekeepers Association will have a demonstration by Randon Hodges at the CWBA apiary on how to install a nuc. Randon is the owner of Double R Honey (306 W. Washington Avenue, Union Gap). Randon plans to install a nuc into the new bee hive which a local Girl Scout troop built and donated to the CWBA last year. It’s beautifully painted and will provide a nice addition to the apiary. Randon Hodges maintains the apiary.
The CWBA apiary is located just north of the parking lot of the Yakima Area Arboretum (1401 Arboretum Drive, Yakima WA). After you park your vehicle, walk north for about 200 yards to the apiary. The time of the installation could be flexible because the ArborFest activities which also take place on April 13th at the Arboretum will just be finishing at 3:00 p.m. Plan to attend so that you can witness this demonstration and also visit with other beekeepers.
